Getting started

Please read through all the information, as many of your questions and the different ways to order are listed below.

Hello, my name is Jose, owner and one of the managers of Boca Chica. Thanks for thinking of Boca Chica for your event. Below is a description of our services and a rough estimate of the costs. You will find more information on how to order and how to generate a price estimate in the How to Order section below.

If a phone meeting works best, just let me know, as I am always available to chat. I schedule all catering calls between 9 am-11 am Monday- Friday or 5 pm-6:30 pm Monday-Thursday. Let me know if you’d like to set something up.

PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL REQUESTS FOR CALL BACKS VIA EMAIL will most likely need to be scheduled. You will receive a reply email to do so, as well as available times.

If you'd like to place an order immediately, you can try calling—however, our staff is not always available even if we are in the building because, during business hours, we are most likely assisting our dine-in customers. You may have to try more than once, or when you reach a team member, they may need to take a message and return your call.

Finally, we offer online ordering for those who would like to place their order immediately when staff is unavailable. (Please see below.)

We offer delivery or pick-up only, most popular for holiday parties, funeral luncheons, graduation parties, baptisms, bridal showers, and baby showers.

Chaffing Dishes
Wire disposable chaffers* are available to purchase: $15 full trays and $12 half trays. Once you order, we can figure out what you will need.

*** These will need a water resource to fill them on-site. The delivery driver will set, fill with water, light the fuel, and place the first pans in the chaffers if desired. The customer is responsible for removing lids and servicing chaffers, and all other services from that point on. The driver is not responsible for any other service.

Common Questions

Taco Bars
- Taco Bars come with what is listed next to its style (Tex Mex, Street, or Fajita). If it is not listed, it does not come with the chosen Taco Bar.

- The minimum order for any of the styles of Taco Bars (Tex Mex, Street, or Fajita) is 30, with a minimum order of 15 for each protein.
Example: Tex Mex Taco Bar for 30 tacos (15 chicken/15 beef) or Tex Mex Taco Bar for 45 tacos (15 chicken/30 beef), or Traditional Taco Bar for 40 tacos (all beef)

- Taco bars come separated, and your guests fill their own tacos as desired. (*Please note the protein portion weight on the menu.)

- Taco Bars are not portioned to be nacho bars, taco salads, or alike. You will most likely run short of protein if guests decide to improvise and make said items. You can purchase more protein choices by the pound under Small Sides to be sure you do not run short. 1 lb of meat will typically serve 8-10 tacos.

Rough Estimates
Average cost for full meal: $9-$14 per person
Average cost for just tacos: $2.99 per taco
- We suggest 2-3 tacos per person, depending on other items ordered.

Quantities
All examples are per person
- Medium meal: 2 entrees, 2 sides, chips, and salsa
- Large meal: 2-3 entrees, 2 sides, chips, salsa, and salad
- Extra large meal: 3 entrees, 2 sides, chips, salsa, salad, and an appetizer such as dips or other appetizer items

Definitions
What's an entree? Any one item or multiple items
- Example 1: 1 taco per person is one entree; 2 tacos per person are two entrees
- Example 2: 1 taco per person and 1 enchilada per person are 2 entrees

What's a side? Rice, beans, salad, or alike

How much salsa should I get? This one's a bit tougher, but each pint of salsa serves 20 teaspoons. This should help you visualize how you place salsa on your food, but generally, one pint is enough to top 30 tacos.

Other quantities
Most sides have the serving amounts next to them on the menu. If they don’t, don't hesitate to ask. :)
